Terms and Conditions of Last Dollar Scholarship Funds

  • Cover the cost of attendance at Southwest Tennessee Community College or the Tennessee Technology Center at Memphis for students earning one of the following:
    1. A two-year associate degree;
    2. Technical training certificate completed by or before two consecutive years;
    3. Transferable credits for the first two consecutive years of a baccalaureate degree.
  • Cover the cost of attendance in the summer semesters once students have completed a fall and spring semester under the program. Summer classes are optional and must apply toward the degree or certification program in which the student is enrolled. The funds for the summer cannot be transferred to another post-secondary institution.
  • Are paid directly to the educational institution. Funds will be paid a maximum of three times per year. Payments will be submitted after the drop/add period of each semester as defined by each educational institution.

General Information

  • The Selection Committee selects the Scholars to be awarded a Last Dollar Scholarship.
  • No exceptions to the above criteria will be allowed unless approved by the Selection Committee. Petitions are initiated in writing and must be sent to the attention of the Selection Committee.
